Why we're doing this

This isn't new.

Kerry Lynn started the Community Huddle in 2013. 22 people showed up to the first one. By 2018 it had grown to 80 organizations: non-profits, churches, businesses, city leadership, schools, and residents, all sharing what they were doing for Williams.

Small towns work best when we know each other. Groups that had been duplicating work started coordinating. Groups that were missing opportunities found them. People connected on staff needs, equipment lending, advertising, and even the cookie bakers.

How it works

RSVP by Sept 15 to introduce your organization.

01

3 minutes to introduce your organization

Every organization that submits the full questionnaire gets 3 minutes to introduce what you do, who you serve, and what you need.

02

Community Huddle Directory

Your organization gets a page in the Community Huddle Directory, published online after the event so the community can keep using it.

03

Follow-up

Make notes. Use these introductions to find out who you should connect with after the event. What you do with the info provided is up to YOU.

04

Handouts

Bring your handouts. There will be a table by the door.

Deadline: Monday, September 15, 5:00pm.

What to expect

The evening, roughly.

  • 5:00
Doors open. Sign in, find your seat. Get ready to roll.
  • 5:30
Quick welcome and game plan from Kerry Lynn Moede.
  • 5:35
GO TIME. Every speaker gets 3 minutes. What you do, who you serve, what you need.
  • Close
Wrap. Next steps. Next huddle leader. How we stay connected.

For speakers

3 minutes go fast.

Practice. Think about it. Be clear and concise.

Once it's done, it's done. You move on. Nobody gets the chance to finish or get more time.

This is the largest group of people you will get in Williams, all listening to you.

RSVP for the Community Huddle.

ONE SPEAKER per organization. RSVP closes Sept 15.
